Removal Techniques

Mechanical Removal

Solvent-Based Removal

• Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol): Apply gently to the stain, blotting with a clean cloth to lift the paint. Test in an inconspicuous area first. Repeat as needed.
• Acetone (nail polish remover): A more potent solvent, use with extreme caution on delicate fabrics. Always test in a hidden area first. Acetone may damage or discolor some fabrics.

Water-Based Removal (For Water-Based Acrylic Paints)

Warm water and gentle scrubbing may be sufficient for water-based acrylics, especially if addressed promptly. A mild detergent can be added to enhance cleaning power.

Laundering

Once the stain is visibly removed, launder the garment according to the care label instructions. For stubborn stains, pre-treating the stain with a stain remover designed for paint or fabric before washing is advised.

Professional Cleaning

If home methods fail, or if the garment is delicate or valuable, professional dry cleaning is recommended. Inform the dry cleaner about the nature and location of the stain.

Prevention
